Excellent Book with Delicious Healthy Recipes July 26, 2010 Sarah Hawken (Darley, Vic, AU) This book in well written and researched. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their life through food.
Please Review The Book If You Intend To Leave One... July 11, 2010 Katherine (Cincinnati, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For those who lack time, let me sum up the bad reviews for you:
1. Either complains about sellers in the marketplace
2. Issues with Silverstone supporting PETA
3. Issues with the viewpoint AKA veganism, macro, etc.
4. Issues with the ingredients in the book
Most of this book is not recipes. That's okay, it's more a story of Alicia's struggles and viewpoints. I found it quite enjoyable, a quality read that went quickly. I wasn't looking at this to be my new Bible, however.
Nicely done yet immensely impractical July 7, 2010 TS from NC 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are many wonderful ideas and noble causes in this book, however, as a normal everyday person without a personal chef and a family to feed and a budget to keep, it is highly impractical. Most of the ingredients are difficult to find Japanese food items you can't get in a regular grocery store. Like, a kubatcha squash, just try and find it or figure out when it's in season. It's a nice "pie in the sky" ideology, but that's not what most people need. Sure I want to lay off the animal products and save the planet too. It's just not doable for the average person.
unique presentation July 5, 2010 aniko
I very much enjoy reading this book. I read a few pages here and there every day and learn something new everytime. Love the presentation of the topics mixed with life experiences and great recepies.
So Much Information! July 4, 2010 Brittany Morrison Between the book and the "Kind Life" website, Alicia Silverstone created some great tools for people to choose a vegan lifestyle more easily! The book is filled with lots of information as well as some great recipes.
